Account and data deletion instructions
About this policy
ORA Players (“ORA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides media player applications that allow users to access and manage media sources they are authorized to use.
This policy describes how ORA handles information when you use the application, sign in, connect a device, manage playlists, or contact support. Available features and the information needed for them may vary by platform and application version.
Information we process
Account and sign-in information
When you use an account-based sign-in method, we process the information needed to authenticate you and associate your devices with your account. This may include your email address, account identifier, and authentication tokens.
When you choose Google sign-in, Google also processes information under its own privacy policy.
Device and application information
ORA sends technical information to its backend to identify and authenticate your installation and provide compatible application functionality. This may include:
- A device or installation identifier.
- A serial value or application-generated identifier, where available.
- A MAC value or application-derived equivalent.
- Device model, operating system, firmware, and platform.
- Application and software version.
An application-generated identifier does not necessarily represent a device’s physical hardware serial number.
Playlists and saved activity
When you use the relevant features, ORA processes information needed to store or synchronize:
- Playlist names, addresses, and source credentials you provide.
- Favorites and saved lists.
- Recently watched items and playback progress.
- Application preferences and linked devices.
Depending on the feature, information may be stored locally on your device, on ORA’s backend, or both.
Support communications
If you contact support, we process your email address, your message, and any account or device information you provide so we can investigate and respond.
Please do not send passwords or unnecessary personal information to support.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Authenticate users and devices.
- Associate installations with the appropriate account.
- Load and manage configured playlists.
- Save and synchronize supported preferences, favorites, and playback activity.
- Provide playback and other application functions.
- Investigate reported problems and respond to support requests.
- Protect accounts and prevent unauthorized access.
Choosing Login without Google does not prevent the application from sending the device and application information required for authentication.
Services involved in processing
ORA communicates with its backend services to provide account and application functionality.
Depending on the features you use, information may also be processed by:
- Google, when you choose Google sign-in.
- Infrastructure providers operating services used by ORA.
- Media and playlist providers whose sources you configure.
When the application requests a stream, playlist, image, or other resource, the destination service receives the network information needed to respond, including your IP address. Source credentials may also be sent to the source you configured.
Independent services handle information under their own privacy policies. Only configure sources you trust and are authorized to access.
Information stored on your device
ORA stores information locally to maintain your session and application settings and to support features such as playback history and favorites.
Signing out is different from deleting your account. Clearing application storage or uninstalling the app may remove local information, but does not by itself request deletion of information held by ORA’s backend.
Data retention
We retain account, device, and saved application information for as long as needed to provide the relevant functionality and handle support requests.
You can request deletion as described below. If any information must be retained to meet an applicable legal obligation, resolve a dispute, or protect against abuse, support will explain the applicable exception when handling your request.
Account and data deletion
Delete your account and associated data
Email [email protected] with the subject: ORA account deletion request.
Include:
- The email address associated with your ORA account, if applicable.
- The device identifier displayed in ORA, particularly if you use Login without Google.
- A statement that you want your ORA account and associated data deleted.
Do not include passwords.
Following any necessary ownership verification, support will process deletion of the account and its associated linked-device records and saved application data, including playlists, favorites, and viewing history, subject to any applicable retention exception explained to you.
Account deletion removes access to the deleted account and its saved data. You may need to clear application storage on your devices separately to remove remaining local copies.
Delete selected data without deleting your account
Email [email protected] with the subject: ORA data deletion request.
Include your account email or ORA device identifier and specify the information you want removed. For example:
- A linked device.
- Saved playlists and associated source credentials.
- Favorites or saved lists.
- Viewing history or playback progress.
State that you want to keep your account if you are requesting only selected data deletion.
Verification and scope
Support may ask for information needed to verify that you control the account or device before processing a request.
ORA can process deletion requests for information it controls. Deleting ORA data does not delete your Google account or accounts held by independent media providers. Contact those providers separately for requests concerning their services.
Your privacy choices
You may contact support to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with your ORA account or device. The rights available to you depend on your location and applicable law.
Where supported, you can also manage playlists, favorites, preferences, and linked devices through the application.
Children’s privacy
If you believe a child has provided personal information to ORA, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and address the information appropriately.
Security
Account information, authentication tokens, and playlist credentials should be treated as confidential. Do not share them publicly or include them in screenshots sent to public channels.
No application, network connection, or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when application functionality or information-handling practices change. The latest version will appear on this page with an updated date.
